The PSA truck heist we covered earlier this week just got bigger. The FBI has joined the case, and PSA has published the full list of every slab that was taken. If you buy graded Pokémon or sports cards, this one matters to you.

What's new since the theft

Quick recap: on October 13, 2026, thieves hit a FedEx truck outside PSA's facility in Santa Ana, California. Police put the initial loss at about $963,000 (see our first report). Here's what has come out since:

  • 6,451 items stolen. That's the count on PSA's published list of missing cards.
  • The FBI is on it. The FBI and the Santa Ana Police Department are both investigating. PSA says it has handed over video footage, shipment manifests and item-level records.
  • Every cert is dead. PSA says, "We have deactivated the certification numbers associated with every stolen graded item." The list has gone out to auction houses, online marketplaces and other card businesses.
  • No arrests announced. As of Sports Collectors Daily's report, PSA had not said whether any suspects were identified or any cards recovered.

Some serious chase cards are on the list

Sports Collectors Daily counted 2,161 sports cards on the list and said gaming cards make up most of the rest. Notable cards named by ICv2 and Sports Collectors Daily include:

  • 1999 Pokémon Game Charizard, Blastoise and Venusaur Holo 1st Editions (per ICv2)
  • 2026 Magic: The Gathering The Hobbit Smaug the Magnificent Headliner, Gleaming Gold (per ICv2)
  • 2005 Shonen Jump's One Piece CCG Promo The Invincible Swordsman Tournament Winner (per ICv2)
  • 2026 Topps Silver Pack 1991 Chrome All-Stars Shohei Ohtani Superfractor 1/1
  • 1933 Goudey #144 Babe Ruth and a 1935 National Chicle Bronko Nagurski

How PSA is paying affected customers

PSA says customers don't have to wait for the investigation to finish. It has refunded grading fees on affected orders, and those refunds are separate from payment for the cards. According to Sports Collectors Daily:

  • Orders shipped on PSA's return label are covered by PSA's insurance, paid at fair market value up to the Maximum Insured Value declared at submission.
  • Orders shipped on a customer's own label are being handled case by case. Dealer submissions go through the dealer.
  • If a card is recovered later, the owner can keep the payment or take the card back.

Why it matters

Thousands of stolen slabs now carry deactivated certs, and any of them could surface on the market. A deactivated cert won't verify on PSA's site, so always run the cert number before you buy, especially on high-end Pokémon, vintage baseball and serialized cards. If something looks off, PSA directs tips to the FBI Los Angeles office at 310-477-6565 (press 1 during business hours and ask for the duty agent on the PSA theft).
